The 380th Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron works through the night to replace an engine on an Airborne Warning and Control System aircraft, or E-3 Sentry. The normal fix-time to remove and replace an AWACS engine is 18 hours. The maintainers have become so adept at the process; they can remove and replace an engine in less than nine hours.
