Master Chief Petty Officer Eric S. Anderson discusses the history of chief petty officers April 1 on Camp Hansen during a celebration of the 121st Chief Petty Officer Birthday. As chief petty officers, the sailors are the leaders and role models in their units. During the event, chief petty officers from units across Okinawa recited the Chief Petty Officer’s Pledge as a reminder of the responsibilities and expectations placed on them.
