    Retired Lt. Col. Bernard Wagner takes the podium during the 141st Engineer Combat Battalion's Casing of the Colors Ceremony as Maj. Debra Lien, 231st Brigade Support Battalion executive officer, and Gov. John Hoeven applaud. Wagner joined the Guard in 1938 and served as the executive officer when the 141st Battalion formed in 1955. He later commanded the battalion from 1964 to 1968.
