    Medical personnel embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge, teach Dominican military members basic first aid and life saving skills at 27 Febrero Naval Base. The training is part of a subject matter expert exchange during the humanitarian assistance mission Continuing Promise 2008. Kearsarge is the primary platform for the Caribbean phase of Continuing Promise, an equal-partnership mission between the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, France, Brazil, Nicaragua, Columbia, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana.
