Sailors in Kuwait from the local Navy Expeditionary Logistics Support Group (Forward Hotel) look on after awarding two Soldiers (far right) the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for performing lifesaving actions and securing the scene after coming upon an auto accident on one of the Kuwaiti highways. Three sailors from NAVELSG received first aid from Army Sgt. Ernesto Lopez and Army Pvt. Morgan Benton while en route to assist coalition partners, which is part of their job working with Task Force Gator, 311th Sustainment Command. At the end of their 15 month tour they will return to the 4th Sustainment Brigade at Fort Hood, Texas. The Navy's NAVELSG Forward Hotel detachment executes a two-fold mission. They ensure returning military equipment conforms to U.S. Department of Agriculture standards; and they ensure all gear returning with personnel serving abroad in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, complies with U.S. Customs regulations.
