U.S. Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Sal Gandara, Coastal Riverine Squadron One-Forward (CRS1-FWD) boatswain mate, ensures a weapon is clear in preparation for shift change after providing static security for a United States Ship in the Port of Djibouti. The CRS1-FWD, commanded by U.S. Coast Guard Cmdr. Alan Tubbs, provides port and harbor security, protects high value assets and performs maritime security operations off the coast of Djibouti.
