Antonio Laguna (bottom), son of Sgt. Frank Laguna, a small arms/artillery repairer assigned to Company B of the 115th “Muleskinner” Brigade Support Battalion, 1st “Ironhorse” Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division was diagnosed with the rare and terminal disease rapid-onset obesity with hypothalamic dysfunction, hypoventilation and autonomic dysregulation. Upon learning of the severity of his son’s illness, Frank said teary-eyed, “We lost it. What are we suppose to do. They just gave him a death sentence.” Although his condition is serious, people he meets describe him as a fun-loving and energetic child. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
