Airman Joseph Jones operates a front end loader during construction of a rainwater retention pond at Joint Base Balad, Iraq, Oct. 29, 2008. The new pond will help control flooding on base after heavy rains. Jones, a pavements and heavy equipment operator with the 332nd Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron and native of Pana, Ill., is deployed from Misawa Air Base, Japan.
