Marines' signal final pre-flight checks have been completed as an F/A-18C Hornet, assigned to the "Checkerboards" of Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 312, prepares to launch from the flight deck of aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) as Carrier Air Wing 3 disembarks prior to the ship's return to homeport. Harry S. Truman, flagship of Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group, is operating in the Atlantic as it returns from a nine-month deployment to the U.S. 6th Fleet and 5th Fleet areas of operation in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts, and Operation Enduring Freedom.
