U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Jason Johnson, left, receives a “Team Albay” shirt from Gov. Joey S. Salceda April 21 following a press conference in Legazpi City, Albay Province, Philippines. Salceda presented similar shirts, as well as provincial passports, to every U.S. service member at the conference to welcome them to the city. The press conference was held to discuss humanitarian civic assistance projects planned in the area as a part of Exercise Balikatan, an annual bilateral exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and United States armed forces that strengthens the bond and improves interoperability between the two countries. Salceda is the governor of Albay, and Johnson is the deputy commander for the Joint Civil Military Operations Task Force, U.S. armed forces.
