U.S. Soldiers, Airmen and soldiers from partner countries assigned to Task Force Larimar are participating in the 2014 humanitarian mission Beyond the Horizon (BTH) at Barahona, Dominican Republic. BTH is a mission supported by the United States Army South, which provides humanitarian assistance to various Latin American countries. BTH helps by providing medical care to local citizens at no cost and by building schools and medical clinics that may help improve the quality of life of the residents of the countries participating in the event. The task force is currently conducting medical readiness training exercise (MEDRETE) while also building three medical care facilities and two schools. (National Guard photo by Staff Sgt.
