ABOARD USS NASSAU (LHA 4), At Sea - Captain Martin Allard (center), Commander, Nassau Strike Group, discusses expeditionary strike group operations with French Vice Adm. Jacques Mazars, Commander Task Force 150 during his visit aboard NASSAU, Nov. 29. Expeditionary Strike Group 8 (ESG) is currently on deployment in support of maritime security operations (MSO). MSO seek to preserve the free and secure use of the world's oceans by legitimate mariners, and prevent terrorists from attempting to use the maritime environment as a venue for attack or as a medium to transport personnel, weapons or other material that could support their efforts.
