Senior Airman Nikolaus Sonksen, firefighter driver/operator, sprays a truck-mounted hose turret while Tech. Sgt. Peter W. Peterson, firefighter crew chief, and Airman 1st Class Zachary Kuiper, firefighter lineman, spray their hose in normal defensive attack as part of crew proficiency training Nov. 20, at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. All are assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron. Daily crew proficiency training ensures these ECES members are prepared for any situation. Sonksen, a native of Springville, Calif., is deployed from Travis Air Force Base, Calif. Peterson, a native of Minneapolis, is deployed from Whiteman AFB, Mo. Kuiper, a native of Orlando, Fla., is deployed from Tyndall AFB, Fla. All are deployed in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa.
