Senior Airman Jason Vanhoose, a Force Protection Airman with the 387th Expeditionary Support Squadron, engages targets with his M-9 pistol at a firing range at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. Vanhoose, a native of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, is deployed from Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M. Members of the 387th ESPTS Force Protection received weapons proficiency training with combat arms instructors from the 387th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron while deployed to the AOR. Because Force Protection Airmen act as augmentees to security forces, it is important that they receive on-going proficiency training to ensure they are ready to properly react and respond during times of increased threats.
