Chief Warrant Officer Wilfrid Bossous, USS Bataan's (LHD 5) Air Boatswain, talks with Sailors from several platforms who are temporarily assigned to the Bataan Amphibious Relief Mission to provide bilingual translation support during disaster relief efforts in Haiti. The multi-purpose amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) departed Naval Station Norfolk Jan. 14 to provide humanitarian assistance/disaster response in Haiti. Bataan along with amphibious transport dock ships USS Fort McHenry (LSD 43) and USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) will provide military support capabilities to civil authorities to help stabilize and improve the situation in the wake of the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that hit the area Jan. 12.
