Runners participate in a memorial circle led by a captain, 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment Physician's Assistant prior to the All American Marathon Shadow 10k Run, May 4 at Camp Phoenix in Kabul, Afghanistan. More than 50 runners from various units participated in the run organized by Fritz and other 2/508 Paratroopers. The Shadow Run served as a way for the deployed Paratroopers to connect with activities at home and join together to honor fallen service members while celebrating their home stations run. Before starting the run, the participants gathered in the memorial circle in the spirit of wear blue: run to remember, and several runners announced the names of fallen friends and comrades they were running in remembrance of.
