A U.S. Air Force HH-60G Pavehawk helicopter from the 55th Rescue Squadron hovers 600 nautical miles off the Pacific Coast of Mexico to hoist a critically burned sailor to safety May 5, 2014. Pararescuemen from the 48th Rescue Squadron are also attached along the side of the litter to manage the patient during the hoist operation. PJs guided the patient into the helicopter, which then transported two injured sailors to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where they were transferred to a 79th RQS HC-130J Combat King II that will fly them to the University of California Regional Burn Unit in San Diego, Calif.
