Charles Ayers, a Tonasket, Wash., native and infantryman assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company of the 2nd Battalion “Lancer,” 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team “Ironhorse,” 1st Cavalry Division, explains the duties of a sniper to Joe M. Pirtle Elementary School students during career day at the Lancer’s adopted school May 2 in Belton, Texas.
