Lance Cpl. Juan Ramirez, an administrative specialist with Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division, grabs dinner during Exercise Desert Scimitar at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, Calif., May 10, 2014. Ramirez, a native of King City, Calif., is part of the battalion security platoon. Service members with the division are operating as the headquarters element of I Marine Expeditionary Force. They will train in field conditions for more than a week, testing and refining their ability to operate in a forward environment.
