Chief Petty Officer Richard L. Buschner operates a recall transducer aboard a combat rubber raiding craft May 7 off the shore of Camp Schwab. Marines and sailors executed sustainment training to enhance their basic scuba diving skills and tactics. “The recall transducer sends out a high-pitched tone into the water, which the divers can hear,” said Buschner, an Arcadia, Fla., native. “That lets the divers know to surface, whether it be due to weather or time constraints.” Buschner is a dive leading chief petty officer with 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
