A soldier stationed at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, is suspended in the air by a UH-1Y Huey helicopter assigned to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 367 during a special patrol insertion and extraction rigging exercise at landing zone Westfield aboard Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. U.S. service members completed the exercise as part of the Helicopter Rope Suspension Training Master’s Course. The HRST Master’s Course, hosted by Special Operations Training Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, based in Okinawa, Japan, is a 10-day course which certifies U.S. service members the ability to land on the ground quickly in situations where aircraft may have difficulty landing.
