Marines with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit and sailors with the USS San Diego, assigned to the small craft action team (SCAT), stand alert on the USS San Diego as part of a strait transit exercise conducted during Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) off the coast of Southern California, May 14, 2014. COMPTUEX serves as the second at-sea period for the 11th MEU, in which the unit will focus on the enabling and supporting functions necessary for success during full mission profile operations on the upcoming deployment.
