U.S. Ambassador to El Salvador Mari Carmen Aponte speaks at the FA-HUM closing ceremony May 16 in San Salvador. The humanitarian and disaster preparedness exercise in El Salvador took place from May 5-16. All nations from Central America participated in FA-HUM, a U.S. Southern Command-sponsored exercise, as well as several from South and North America. Through this exercise, participating nations became familiar with each other's policies and are now better prepared to confront natural and man-made disasters.
