Major Gen. Charles M. Gurganus, previously the deputy commanding general of Marine Corps Combat Development Command, laughs at memories, shared by Maj. Gen. David H. Berger, during his retirement ceremony May 15, 2014, aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C. Gurganus is retiring after 38 years of faithful service to the Marine Corps and will be returning to his hometown Wilmington, N.C.
