An empty Fort Doan staging area at the Transit Center at Manas, May 19, 2014, sits in contrast with the former jumbles of scrap that used to await transport here. Fort Doan was Hotel Alaska, one of two transient lodging facilities at the Transit Center at Manas. This area recently was filled with hundreds of tents, and after the transient mission at the TCM ended, the location became a staging area for equipment and materiel awaiting transportation out of the TCM.
