Members of the 117th Air Control Squadron, Georgia National Guard are released from formation to reunite with family members during a homecoming May 23, 2014, at Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia. The 117th Air Control Squadron deployed over 100 Airmen to three countries to provide critical command and control to the Coalition Forces Air Component Commander of Southwest Asia. The unit provided air defense across an almost 900,000 square mile region, ensuring coalition troops were safe and that coalition aircraft flew safely in support of the global war on terrorism.
