Wesley Dimmick, a Two Rivers, Wis., native who serves as a mortarman with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, adjusts a scope on an 81mm mortar system at Forward Operating Base Spin Boldak, Afghanistan, May 22. Dimmick used this particular mortar system the day before, while under small arms fire in southern Afghanistan. The system weighs 93 pounds and is carried by a four-man mortar team.
