A monument at The Basic School in Quantico, Va., commemorates the Marine officers of Class 6-67 who were killed after graduating class. Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 6, Combat Logistics Regiment 2, 2nd Marine Logistics Group visited the school May 14, 2014, during a leadership course designed to immerse the unit’s NCOs in the Marine Corps’ deep history of leadership and sacrifice. Of the 498 officers who graduated with the class, 43 were killed in Vietnam, one was killed in Lebanon, and six died during training. Another 200 members were wounded in combat.
