Airman 1st Class Andrew Sanders directs a front-end loader controlled by Airman 1st Class Ryan Miller loading barriers onto a flat bed truck Dec. 16, at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. The barriers will be loaded on a flat-bed truck for transportation to the ECES compound where they will be used to construct an emergency bunker. Both Airmen are pavements maintenance technicians assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron. Airman Sanders, a native of Payson, Ariz., is deployed from Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany and Airman Miller, a native of Tulsa, Okla., is deployed from Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D. Both are deployed in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa.
