Cpl. Jesse Tingle, a musician with the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band, holds a folded American flag in his home, aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., May 11. The flag was flown at the dedication of the Miramar National Cemetery in January 2010. Tingle collects historical American flags. He owns several historical flags with various numbers of stars. Some of his prized flags include the flag shown, given to him by retired Sgt. Maj. Michael Zacker, a 48-star burial flag, given by a member of his church, and a 45-star flag he purchased last year. He received his favorite flag at an early age, a 48-star flag, given to him by his father.
