Team Summer Dragon rows to victory May 25 in the waters off of Matsuda-No-Hama Beach during the Henoko Dragon Boat Races. More than 30 teams comprised of Okinawa community members, Marines and their family members participated in the 400-meter dash on the water. The boat races are traditionally performed for the god of the sea, to ask that the ocean provide an abundant harvest of seafood, and most importantly to request the safety of the fishermen.
