A young French boy wears a period World War II uniform during a ceremony June 5 in Montebourg, France, to commemorate the town’s liberation by the 4th Infantry Division in June 1944. A weeklong celebration, the anniversary of D-Day finds the local Norman citizenry, young and old alike, donning authentic World War II uniforms and driving fully restored American military vehicles to include everything from Jeeps to halftracks to Sherman tanks – all of which are street legal.
