In front of a somber crowd of students from Whitney Middle School Ryland Holt’s body is taken from the scene of a tragic cliff jumping accident. The accident and subsequent rescue and recovery was part of an elaborate water safety message for the students developed by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers park rangers. The simulation also allowed for the more than 20 agencies to train together so they would understand each other’s roles and responsibilities in preparation for a real life operation.
