Capt. Travis Perkins, greets members of the 100 Black Men of America during the opening ceremony for the 100 Black Men of America’s national symposium at the Westin Diplomat Resort here, June 12, 2014. The Marines have partnered with 100 Black Men of America recognizing them as an institution committed to excellence in leadership that embodies the Marine Corps’ core values of honor, courage and commitment. The Corps hopes to inform many of the organization’s more than 125,000 African American members about opportunities in the Marine Corps and to present the Marines as a viable career option. The partnership is part of the Marine Corps’ continued efforts to attract and retain diversity within its officer ranks. (Official Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. John-Paul Imbody)
