De Los Santos, a U.S. Army veteran who suffered traumatic brain injury and an above-the-knee amputation in combat, received a new competition handbike June 13 as part of a donation made by Vietnam Veterans of America, Military Order of the Purple Heart and the Marine Corps League. In all, the veterans service organizations donated three handbikes after raising more than $12,000 since November 2013.
