U.S. Army veteran Michael Kacer, from Yonkers, N.Y., smoothly passes the baton to Staff Sgt. Michael Smith, Warrior Transition Unit, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Both men ran during the relay race practice for the 2014 Army Warrior Trials at the U.S. Military Academy Preparatory School track in West Point, N.Y. The Warrior Trials are hosted by Warrior Transition Command and include athletes from the Army, Marines and Air Force who will face off in archery, basketball, cycling, track and field, swimming, shooting, sitting volleyball and wheelchair basketball. Participants in the trials include athletes with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, visual impairment, serious illnesses and amputations.
