Marines with Weapons Company, Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, conduct a flak jacket run to stay physically and mentally ready during Certification Exercise (CERTEX) aboard the USS Makin Island, off the coast of Southern California, June 6, 2014. CERTEX is the final evaluation of the 11th MEU and Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group prior to deployment.
