Brig. Gen. Niel E. Nelson, left, congratulates Master Sgt. Michael L. McNeal for earning the Maj. Gen. William Pendleton Thompson Hill Award for the best mess hall in the Marine Corps June 9 at the Camp Kinser Mess Hall. The Marines and contractors who work at the mess hall are proud to receive the award and intend to make sure it remains in their hands, according to Col. Edmund J. Bowen, the camp commander of Camp Kinser. Bowen is also a Staten Island, New York, native and commanding officer of Combat Logistics Regiment 37, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Nelson is a Genoa, Nevada, native and the commanding general of 3rd MLG, III MEF. McNeal is a Columbus, Georgia, native and food service specialist with CLR-37, 3rd MLG, III MEF.
