Doctors spent 12.5 hours putting a stint in Lance Cpl. Tallia Goodale’s celiac artery, an operation that left this 11.5-inch scar. Goodale, a 21-year-old native of Osage, Iowa, successfully challenged a medical evaluation board’s finding to stay in the Marine Corps. After being on Parris Island, S.C., for more than two years, Goodale recently left to continue her training at Marine Combat Training at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
