Capt. Elizabeth Rascon, commander of the 1st Cavalry Division Horse Cavalry Detachment, mounts her horse for the first time as commander following a change of command at the 1st Cav. Div. Horse Cav. Detachment at Fort Hood, Texas, June 13. Rascon is the detachment’s first female commander. “This unit has a great mission, all kinds of really cool things with the community and I hope to expand on that,” Rascon said.
