The newly-constructed Marine Aircraft Group 12/Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 12 compound, which was built upon reclaimed land, became operational after a ribbon-cutting ceremony March 27, 2014. Brig. Gen. Steven R. Rudder, commanding general of the 1st Marine Air Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force, applauded the hard work put into the construction and said he looks forward to the capabilities of the new facilities.
