Pvt. 1st Class Christopher Doyle is presented the Army Commendation Medal with Valor device by Lt. Col. Christopher D. Lestochi for his actions during a rocket attack on Aug. 19, 2008. When shrapnel from a rocket injured a fellow platoon member, Pvt. 1st Class Doyle shielded the Soldier from further harm using his own body.
