Landing Craft Utility (LCU) 1660 enters the well deck of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Gunston Hall (LSD 44) during an offload to Camp Patriot, Kuwait. The offload is in support of the routine sustainment training, which is planned regularly to maintain required proficiencies and assure readiness. Gunston Hall is part of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group, and with the embarked 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (22nd MEU), is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
