Rear Adm. Richard Gromlich, commander of the 13th Coast Guard District, is presented the rear admiral upper half flag by Master Chief Petty Officer Charles Lindsey, 13th Coast Guard District command master chief, and Petty Officer 3rd Class Katelyn Shearer during a surprise ceremony held at Coast Guard Base Seattle, June 30, 2014. As a rear admiral upper half, Gromlich now wears two stars upon his shoulders, which is the equivalent of a major general to the Air Force, Army and Marine Corps.
