Eric Copeland, a chemical operator for Edgewood Chemical Biological Center (ECBC) aboard MV Cape Ray (T-AKR 9679), repairs a crank that will help move drums containing chemical agent to feed into the Field Deployable Hydrolysis System (FDHS) for neutralization on the ship during an exercise in operating the FDHS. Cape Ray is tasked with the neutralization of specific chemical materials from Syria in accordance with the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) guidelines while operating in international waters.
