New York Army National Soldiers of the 1569th Transportation Company display the certificates indicating they completed the "Vierdaagse" or Four Days March, sponsored by Dutch troops stationed at this German army-run forward operating base. The Vierdaagse is an 100-year-old Dutch tradition in which Soldiers and civilians hike a set distance each day for four days. Traditionally, Dutch soldiers hike 40 kilometers (24 miles) each day for four days with a field pack.
