FORT McPHERSON, Ga. (Jan. 6, 2006) - Cathy Speer, wife of Maj. Gen. Gary D. Speer, receives the U.S. Central Command Commander's Outstanding Community Service Medallion from Lt. Gen. R. Steven Whitcomb, Commanding General, Third U.S. Army. She also received the Dr. Mary E. Walker Award and the Patton Award in recognition of her work with the Third Army community. Maj. Gen. Speer and his wife will be leaving Third Army, where he served as Deputy Commanding General for U.S. Army Europe.
