A U.S. Marine with second platoon, India Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, adjusts his night vision device while standing watch in a company-level defense. Marines and their foreign partners experimented with seabasing operations on a company level during Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise 2014. Traditionally, landing teams operated on a battalion level, but the Company Landing Team aimed to keep forces supplied 24 hours at a time across the area of operation from sea. RIMPAC, the largest maritime exercise in the Pacific region, encourages military to military bonds by strengthening lines of communication and interoperability among participating forces (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
