Major Gen. William D. Beydler along with previous commander of II Marine Expeditionary Force reviews the Marines as they pass in parade. Beydler assumed command from Maj. Gen. Raymond C. Fox at a change of command ceremony, July 17, 2014, aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C. Beydler is a graduate of Navy Fighter Weapons School and the Marine Aviation and Weapons Tactics Squadron One Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course. He commanded at the Fighter Attack Squadron, Marine Aircraft Group, Marine Aircraft Wing and Joint levels. “We’ve got three things that we are going to focus on. Readiness, readiness, and readiness,” said Beydler. “What I mean by that is I want the Marines to be prepared to be deployable, ready to deploy at a moment’s notice, and I want them ready to employ their skills when they get to a point of friction, so the Marines will be ready to meet any calling of our nation.” (U.S. Marine Corps photo taken by Lance Cpl.
