Soldiers from Headquarters and Headquarters Battery 10th AAMDC sharpened their skills on Chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense recently at CBRN training site at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. The training was designed to familiarize soldiers with the process of surviving and operating in a contaminated environment as well as how to protect themselves from exposure. The instructional classes included the proper wear of the Joint Service Lightweight Integrated Suit Technology and proper donning and wear of the M42 protective mask. The final event was demonstrating the protective nature of the equipment in the "Gas Chamber", a room filled with tear gas. Soldiers had to perform a series of tasks and exercises as well as breaking the seal of their mask and resealing it in the simulated chemical environment before exiting the room.
